SCHOOL BOARD OKS $67.5M BUDGET.(CAPITAL REGION)

Byline: MARV CERMAK Staff writer SCHENECTADY The Board of Education adopted a $67.5 million budget for 1995-96 that includes a 2.8 percent property tax increase Wednesday night.

The tax hike will total $35.20 for a residential property carrying the average city assessment of $80,000.

The tax rate will jump 44 cents to $16.01 per $1,000 of assessed value.

A $1.2 million state aid windfall was appropriated to the Schenectady City School District's contingency account. The tentative budget included only $900,000 in state aid, which came in at $2.1 million.
