The new Minister for Tourism was sent up a tree to collect a beehive after a call from a constituent.
It turned out that Weston-super-Mare MP and Winscombe residentJohn Penrose is a member of the Beekeeper's Association, as he wascalled out on Saturday.
A distressed resident had called Councillor Ann Harley,chairwoman of North Somerset Council, to say a swarm of bees hadsettled high up in a tree in his garden.
It took the minister, garbed in full protective gear, threeclimbs up to 16ft off the ground to capture the queen and her host.
They now live in a hive in the MP's garden.
