NSW; Airport security workers prepare to strike
Hundreds of Sydney Airport security workers will stop work today over a pay dispute.
About 300 SNP Security workers will be involved in two stoppages at the internationaland domestic terminals in support of a 20 per cent pay rise.
The security staff earn $13.04 an hour and say they're among the lowest paid workersat the airport, even though their workloads have increased since September 11.
The Sydney Airports Corporation says it's worked with SNP to avoid delays during thehour-long stoppages at 10am (AEST) and 3pm (AEST).
While not the only security company at the airport, SNP has responsibility for thebaggage and personnel screening carried out prior to entry to the gate lounges.
