Fed: Costello won't confirm or deny offer

Former treasurer PETER COSTELLO has refused to confirm or deny whether he was offered
a frontbench post by Opposition Leader MALCOLM TURNBULL.

Mr COSTELLO says he doesn't know where they speculation came from .. but he wishes
new shadow treasurer JOE HOCKEY well .. saying it's important he take up the economic
attack on the government.

Mr HOCKEY replaces deputy Liberal leader JULIE BISHOP who quit as shadow treasurer
yesterday after constant criticism of her performance.
